On Tuesday, October 26th, St. Philip's will observe the Feast of Alfred the Great, King of Wessex. Not many kings and potentates make it onto the calendar of saints, but Alfred does. We will honor Alfred by inviting Dr. Ben Weber, professor of English literature, to be our guest speaker at the 9:30am service. Dr. Weber is quite familiar with Alfred, and in particular, the good king's passion for learning and education. Ben will be available for questions at coffee hour after our mass.
