The real work of Mission and Outreach is done by the entire Parish. Our committee provides leadership and guidance in our local and international missions. The following are a list of outreach organizations we have supported:

Palatine Township Apple Tree

Leader:  Missions and Outreach Ministry

There are two outreach programs which we support each year.  These are:

  1. A ministry supported in conjunction with the Palatine Township Authority and a number of other churches in the Northwest Community around Palatine. During the Christmas season, local community service agencies obtain names of needy families that require assistance in providing Christmas gifts for themselves and their children. Our parish makes up “angels” with each request on one angel. These are hung on a tree for parishioners to look over, select, and buy the requested gift. The gifts are brought to church, then taken to the local public service agency for distribution to the needy families. About 125 to 150 gifts are purchased by the parish every year.
  2. This program provides backpacks full of donated school supplies to underprivileged students so that they can start the school year prepared and ready to learn. Donations are collected in July for the start of the school year in late August.

Palatine Township Food Pantry

There is a special container in the back of the church that holds donations to this organization. Volunteers transport the food items from our church to the township building. The 2nd Sunday of every month is dedicated to this ministry.

Palatine Township Thanksgiving Basket

Leader:  Missions and Outreach Ministry

Palatine Township sponsors an annual Thanksgiving Basket Program which provides under-resourced families with a basket filled with all the ingredients to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Feed My Starving Children

Leader:  Missions and Outreach Ministry

At various times during the year, parishioners join together and go to a facility to spend an hour packaging food for various countries around the world.
